A Sense of Normalcy (So far)

Lets take a moment and celebrate that we are receiving 6 week progress reports for our kids...you know what that means...we have been IN school for 6 weeks!  No quarantine, no virtual, a tiny piece of normal.  And on top of that we have had our fall sports and activities keeping us busy like normal too.  Praise!  I haven't had a post since Ellington's birthday and part of that is because we have been on the go.  Cohen is in full swing with middle school auxilary, tennis, and always her favorite-BATON class.  Kate and Bryce have had practice for a few weeks and they started games last week.  Kate is playing soccer and Bryce is playing T-Ball.  Both have been having fun at school.  So far Bryce is really enjoying kindergarten.  He has met so many new friends and I love to hear his stories each day.  He takes the clip chart VERY serious and makes it his personal mission to clip up as far as he can each day.  We have started back to Wednesday night church too.  I feel like slowly we are getting there.

Little Miss Ellington has become a walker!  She is now all over the house into everything she shouldn't be.  She is kept occupied by everyone else's activities but she seems to take it like a champ.  We enjoy a little one on one time each day until 3:00!

I was thinking today about the saying "be careful what you wish for because you just might get it".  Last night Ellington was having a hard time going to sleep.  She just wanted me to rock her.  At 12:00 I'm rocking her when I'm so tired but I wanted to soak up that time because it doesn't happen often.  How quick they get busy and want down instead of being held.  During the day or during "normal" life hours we want them to let us rock them but instead sometimes we get that wish in the middle of the night.  Just like how we always say "I wish time would slow down" or "I wish we had more free time at home".  That wish came to us in March when covid hit.  No we don't want bad things to happen just to get our wish but when they do we need to at least look at the positive side of things.  I miss the slow pace of March & April but I love watching my kids do what they love.  I love rocking Ellington but I do wish it was about 2 hours earlier but instead I'll just take what I can get and enjoy the moment.  I vividly remember rocking Cohen around 6:00 am when she was little.  I saw a bus go down the road and I thought...enjoy this time rocking her because before you know it she will be in school...and here we are.  So enough of the soap box, I just had that on my mind.  Enjoy each moment because before you know it they are over!

Here is a little bit of how we've been enjoying our last 6 weeks!

I don't think I ever shared some of the pics from Davis and Kayla's wedding weekend in Waycross.  They had some cute attendants!

Dancing with Pop

Bryce was ready to catch that garter but oh well!

At the end of the night Kate tossed her heels in the trash because they hurt her feet!

Cohen celebrated with her friends for Sadie's birthday!  I love these sweet friendships she has!

These 2 thought Mrs. Hazel would love this pink bike!

Middle school Auxiliary started and so far they have had 2 of the 3 home games.  The last is next week.  These girls have rocked their performances!

Ready to cheer on Sissy!

Cohen also has been busy with tennis.  We're so proud of her for continuing to step out of her comfort zone and try another sport!  Her Daddy really loves this since he loves tennis too.  He's always looking for a partner to play with!

Cousins!

Now for Kate...Our little soccer girl is loving life on the soccer field!  Its definitely harder to get pics of her because she's always moving and I'm trying to watch too.  These games get intense!

We ran into some friends at the Vintage Cup one Friday.  She LOVED getting to do that!

Now for Mr. Bryce!  He is living his best life on the baseball field.  And I have a few funnies from kindergarten!

He & his best buddy Skyler are both #6.  Sweet Boys!

He Loves watching Elliott play football!  games, practices, you name it!

This was a picture I got from his teacher of his show-n-tell.  You KNOW he had to take his Darth Vader mask!  Complete with his Star Wars shirt

This was a picture Bryce drew...he said it was his daddy sitting in the recliner throwing the football over the fan to him.  Can you guess what takes place in our living room on most nights?!

And the last of the 4...Ellington!  Still loving life while taking stroller rides, seeing the cows each day, and going here and there to cheer on one of the other 3!

My view when I get ready! I have to contain her in the tub!

Lately we've loved having to use a blanket on these wonderful fall mornings!

Believe it or not Mama even got in a play date of her own a few weeks back!  Got to have some fun!

Hopefully we will celebrate another successful update soon!  In the meantime we are celebrating that its finally GAME WEEK!!!! GO DAWGS!  Happy Fall!
