Atlanta Fun: Six Flags, World of Coke, & Braves!

We recently had some fun in Atlanta with both our friends and our family.  Since these days were back to back I'm going to write about them together.  Monday was a fun filled day at Six Flags!  Several of us moms got together and took our kids.  The kids earn a free ticket through school by reading so many minutes and we like to make sure they earn it so we can all go!  We can go anyway but we like to tell them this!  This year we had 13 kids, all boys except 2, Cohen and her best friend Josi.  They were all so good too!  You would think we might be crazy to take all these kids but there were 7 of us moms and we had the best time.  We even stayed together the entire day because everyone had a blast doing the same thing and being together.  We rode rides, enjoyed some time at the waterpark, and rode more.  I absolutely love roller coasters so I thoroughly enjoyed myself!  Cohen had been once when she was 6 and you have to know she is very hesitant about riding any roller coaster!  I knew it would be asking a lot to get her on all the rides but I was proud of her, she didn't ride them all but she rode most of them!  I'm still hoping to make a thrill seeker out of her yet.  I didn't take Kate this year since I knew she wouldn't be tall enough to ride many rides and all of the kids we took were around the same age.  Her time will come!  We had so much fun and I can't wait to go back.  We are thinking an adult trip may need to happen since we all love the rides probably more than the kids!

I thought it was so sweet how these 2 would hold hands walking around all day

My driver...kind of scary thinking about it

Cohen & Josi are sitting up there somewhere
Last ride of the day and yes she rode this one!

Since it was pretty late when we left we had to try to find somewhere to eat pretty quick.  We were all starving too and we ended up at a Waffle House.  We had the place to ourselves and ended up with the sweetest waitresses!  They probably had a slight panic attack seeing all of us, especially this many kids, coming in, but they did a great job!  I think we killed ourselves laughing so many times and ended up with so much food.  Like I said, our waitress was so sweet and even brought Stacey, Courtney, and I waffles while we waited.  Which we ate like it was the best thing in the world.  The kids continued to entertain with their dance moves inside then out.  I think we got all of them flossing in the parking lot.  You name it they can do it, but we are doing good just to know all the names of their dances I think!  Such a fun way to end a fun day.

This is what a day at Six Flags will make you do...Eat It Up!

The next day we had a family day planned with Kelly's family to Atlanta to visit the World of Coke and to the Braves game.  We had planned this for Larry for Father's Day.   We had never been to the World of Coke so I thought it would be neat to do.  My kids aren't big Coke drinkers but Bryce had a fun time with his little Coke they gave him as we went in.  Everyone was getting a kick out of him slurping his can.  He was a big hit with one of the workers.  You know he hardly meets a stranger so he was enjoying himself.  The girls ended up having a fun time and even not drinking Coke they had plenty of other drinks to taste and try.  They enjoyed seeing the vault where the secret recipe is supposedly kept and they loved creating their own Coke bottle.  Bryce was hesitant meeting the polar bear but ended up loving him and wanting to pet him.  It was definitely a fun little outing for everyone and I think we all thought it was a neat place to visit.

Oldest Coke artifact in the room!

I'm I the only one who doesn't remember Sprite boy??

There is one flavor of Coke, you will find it in the Europe section, called Beverly.  It may be the worst flavor you will ever taste and I think its famous for it!  Hubs agrees...

Happy Father's Day!!!

After World of Coke we headed to SunTrust field.  We ate and watched the Braves.  So far this year we have no luck on watching the Braves win.  The kids really loved the kids section in the outfield.  The girls climbed the rock wall, zip lined, and Kate won every little prize possible playing the little games.  Bryce was dead set on hitting in the batting cages, so I waited with him.  He was so cute in there!  They actually pitch to him since he is so little instead of the machine so it worked out great for him.  I'm pretty sure he thought it was the most wonderful thing.  After an hour of playing though we were all ready to go.  The Braves gave up so many runs in the 8th inning we knew it wasn't likely to be a win.  I was having flashbacks to the last game we were there that went to 15 innings and I didn't want that to come close to happening again.  I love to watch them win but not happening with these girls and Bryce!  Another fun day though!!

This girl loved climbing to the top to ring the bell

First game in the books!  And he is an expert tomahawk Chopper now!  The chant, well that needs a little practice :)

4th of July!

One of my very favorite holidays is 4th of July!  Its in the middle of summer (my favorite), its a day to relax and have fun with friends and family (my favorite), it ends with awesome fireworks (my favorite), and we can stop and be thankful for our independence and all those who have and are still fighting for that.  I also have to take advantage of a holiday and the photo opp with the kids in their red, white, and blue theme wear.  This year they even did it in their swimsuit theme wear too.  They are great to make their mama happy!

Bryce, who did so good for this picture decided later on he did not want to smile and no bribery was going to make him.  He has a mind of his own for sure.  I'm not sure which threat made him smile for the last picture but whatever it was he smiled and we left to go to Sug and Pop's for a little pre-4th fun.  He made a 2 minute picture become a 15 minute painful process.

We did get to go have fun at Sug & Pop's after and he was more than willing there to have some pictures made.  We had messed up and forgot to take our annual Father's Day picture of the grandkids and Pop so we did that.  After we ate we all went on a bike ride which Bryce loves!  He has become a master on his little balance bike and he wanted to go all through the neighborhood.  I love watching him on it!

On the 4th we celebrated all day long with our friends at the Burton's.  This is our annual 4th of July tradition and we love it and look forward to it.  We go at lunch and eat first, then the kids play and swim all day!  They love it!  Us adults love it too.  We get to sit, talk, play games, and just enjoy being with everyone.  We eat supper again that evening and the night ends late with an awesome fireworks show.  The win this year was I sat inside with Bryce, who had noise canceling headphones on, but he sat with me at the window and watched the fireworks!  Yay for no tears!  Last year he wanted to stay inside to play but once he heard the first boom he was curled up yelling for help.  Cohen was always the same way and I can't help but laugh.  At least she is proof they do grow out of it.  It was such a fun day!

talk about a pool full!

The line for the diving board, and Bryce looked so cute.  Here he is actually waiting his turn but a lot of times he would run right to the front.  And most people would let him go!

We love our Grace!

Bryce had Zach playing football with him....the countdown is on!

When your scared of fireworks you wear big headphones so you can't hear a thing

The kids glasses were more fun for us

Can't forget our chalk art fun...more reasons to love the 4th!  LOL!
