Celebrating Cohen!

I can't believe my Coco just turned 12!  Why do the years continue to fly by? This girl that made me a mama is now a preteen middle schooler!  Cohen makes us so proud!  She is a sweet, talented and smart girl and I know she's going to go far in life if she continues to stay focused, work hard, and trust God's plan for her life.  In the mean time we will pray daily to survive these preteen attitudes, emotions, and everything else that is not so fun.

This year Cohen decided not to have a big birthday party.  We were going to take a shopping trip (what she wanted) and do a few little get togethers with friends here and there.  Well February has brought the most crazy weather here in Georgia.  I have never seen so much rain, a little snow and then a few warm days all back to back.  Weather actually ruined birthday plans several times so we ended up celebrating all month long!  She indeed had a birth month.  We made it work and had so much fun in the process.
The day before her birthday Sug picked her up from school and they went to have their nails done.  Cohen loves to go get her nails done and this was a special day just the 2 of them.  They definitely don't have many of those.

On Cohen's actual birthday the middle school was supposed to have a dance just for the 6th graders.  Because of the dance and the time it would dismiss, we told Cohen that we could go eat for her birthday and she could even have some friends come with us.  It really was a great set up but then the rain started and flooding was happening causing the dance to be postponed.  We got the news during school hours so of course she was devastated.   I had to think fast and brainstorm with a few of the moms but after texts with everyone and with Cohen it worked out for me to pick her and some friends up from school and we brought the dance back to our house.  I had to throw together some snacks for them but it was all good!  A big thank you to all the mamas who were ok with spur of the moment changes!  The kids came here, the hung out and played games then we did all go eat Mexican.  Cohen had the big sombrero birthday song complete with whipped cream.  I think this was her reason to go to the Mexican restaurant to start with!  Everyone came back to our house until their moms could come.  They were all so excited because school was delayed the next day.

Two days later on Saturday we had snow!  We were planning to go shopping that day so of course that canceled those plans.  I had one sad girl but then again for snow I was ok with finding another day!  On Sunday church was canceled but we had our family over for a birthday lunch.  I didn't get any pics of that other than Cohen here with her cookie cake.   Celebration #2 was fun though!

Mid February is our school's winter break.  During winter break Cohen wanted to go somewhere with her friends from baton but South Carolina schools don't have the week long break we have.  They did have President's Day though and that matched up with our break!  On Sunday we picked up her 2 friends Kenzie and Gracie and then headed to Greenville to Big Air.  The girls jumped and had a blast for 2 hours.  Kelly, Kate, and I had a fun time ourselves!  I think Hubs was a little sore for the next few days!  It stinks getting old!   After Big Air the girls had a sleepover at our house.  They had a blast!  I'm so thankful for the friendships Cohen has made through her baton studio!

We celebrated Cohen's birthday in Gainesville with Grannie, Papa, Aunt Vicki and Aunt Danette.  They always make the kids feel special on their birthday!

At the end of the week during winter break we finally squeezed in our mall trip.  It was on Bebe's actual birthday so I got to take 2 birthday girls shopping!  Cohen took her bestie Josi with us and these 2 had so much fun shopping and picking out matching outfits.  I think they at least got 4 matching outfits.  Bryce and Ellington had to tag along too and were great sports.  Bryce waited patiently all day to ride the carousel and this was Ellington's first time on it too!

It was a fun fun month celebrating our favorite 12 year old!  We love our sweet, sassy, smart, baton twirling, Tik Tok dancing, fashion loving Cohen.  I hope 12 is the best year yet!
