A Fun Thanksgiving Break!

Thanksgiving break is always a week full of fun for us and this year was no different.  We get to start and end the break with weekends of Georgia game fun!   First though we had Bryce's Thanksgiving feast at preschool.  HE did a great job singing his songs.  I had my worries, because he had not been singing them for me at home, but he did great.  After singing we had a delicious Thanksgiving meal.  Another reason this is one of my favorite holidays!

On Friday Cohen had her friend Josi over. Since these girls are at different elementary schools they love it when they get a weekend together.  Saturday was Georgia's game against UMass and we were able to take the entire family and Cohen got to take a friend.  We have never all been at a game together so that was fun.  We went down early to take the kids to the Dawg Walk.  Cohen & Josie were shouting at Jake Fromm and were excited when he waved their way.  Bryce was all about seeing Hairy Dawg.   After the Dawg Walk we had a good bit of time to kill before the game started.  We did all go see Uga!  This was the first time seeing Uga since he isn't under the bridge after the stadium renovations.  I always love seeing him!  I love some Uga.  After this Kelly took Bryce, Cohen and Josi into the stadium to eat while Kate and I went to the Tate Center to eat.  We really lucked up because we didn't have to wait in line and got a table right away.  After eating we met LeAnne to pass off an extra ticket then headed into the game to enjoy another Dawg Win!
Triplets!

After we ate I showed Kate my name on the wall

On Sunday we got to really kick off our Thanksgiving traditions by packing up and heading to the mountains for a few days at the cabin with Sug & Pop.  My kids look forward to this every single year!  And me too.   We love going to Oconee State park and staying in the cabins.  Sunday we arrived and went ahead and took our pictures that we take each year.  This year we actually got a good one for a Christmas card.  I didn't know what to do having them ready so early!  After pictures we had our Thanksgiving together and it was so yummy!  Thanksgiving food is just so good!  We spent the rest of Sunday and all of Monday just having fun together.  We sat by the camp fire, the girls played games, we hiked, road or paddled in the boat Pop had rented,  rode bikes, just relaxed.  It is just so cozy and peaceful.  The leaves are still pretty.  We just love everything about it.

As we were hiking back to the car Kate was walking pretty fast in front of me and I watched her step right over this little snake.  How she didn't step on it I have no idea.  Somehow I'm always the one who finds the snakes while we're hiking.  Of course Kate was loving it.

And Daddy...wonder what that secret is...

Later on in the week it was time for Thanksgiving Day.  This year was a little different for us.  It was our first Thanksgiving without my Nanny and with out Nana.  We always celebrated Thanksgiving at Nana's house on Thanksgiving night and it was always so much fun.  It really made us miss her that much more.  Last year she became sick right after Thanksgiving so that was also in our minds.  What used to be a day on the go for us became a day we were home all day this year.  We did have my whole family over here this year and we really enjoyed having everyone here.  It was a nice day and the kids got to play outside.  It really reminded me of all of our kickball games we used to play at my Nanny's house on Thanksgiving.  I'm very thankful for my family and creating these fun holiday memories with them.

Its not officially a holiday without Eric putting someone in the airplane spin, this time it was Kate

That night Larry, Lydia, and Davis came over.  We decided to have soups & sandwiches even though I think everyone was pretty stuffed from lunch.   Then it was time for a little black Friday shopping.  Even though most was done online Dawn and I still went for the fun of it for a few hours.  The rest of Friday was spent finalizing Christmas decorations and being comfy at home.  We ended our break just like we started it...Between the Hedges!  Its always fun to watch the Dawgs kill the Yellow Jackets!  Its only a little sad because that wraps up another fun season of Georgia football.   I love our Saturdays in the fall with these guys!
