Happy Halloween!

We love Halloween in our house.  I look forward to it every year and we have a lot of Halloween fun through out the month.  We always have a fun Halloween party with some of our closest friends a few weekends before Halloween.  We always have to plan around Georgia games and high school games so it can be tricky.  This year our fun started over our fall break.  We all watched the Georgia game then headed to Shawn & Nat's house for some Halloween fun.  It happened to be the night of the GA/LSU game that we lost so it was nice to have something else to take our mind off of the game.  We ate, we laughed, the kids decorated pumpkins, it was a lot of fun.  Cohen and Josie had been planning their costumes for a while.  They were ketchup and mustard and were super cute!  This year Kate chose a Cleopatra costume and Bryce was an Indian.  His fascination started on his trip to Cherokee with Sug and Pop and when Suzy gave him some Indian toys and "feathers" as he called it, I got the outfit to match.  Perfect costume for him!  He would beat his little drum or better yet, have us beat it and then he would do his dance.  We asked him his Indian name and he said he was "chief bull".  He constantly cracks me up.

Shawn & Nat had great costumes again!  Shawn's Dinosaur costume was a hit except with Bryce & Liv!

As Halloween got closer we had more and more fun.  On Sunday before Halloween it was our church fall festival.  We had just came in from our trip to Florida.  We did trunk or treat at the festival so it was only fitting to do a football trunk.  And it was quick to throw together since we had about an hour to get it done!

The T-Rex (aka Shawn) was back at the festival and you can see Bryce wanted no part of it

Enjoying the cupcake walk!  He won on his first try!

Bryce loved handing out the candy to our trunk or treaters!  They would throw the ball & when they were finished he was waiting with candy for them

On Tuesday Bryce had his trunk-or-treat for preschool.  There were so many trunks to get candy at and they were so cute!  He really got into it this time and loved getting so much candy.  I always wonder what we are going to do with all this candy.  It never all gets gone in our house.  Since the fun is at night siblings get to attend the party too.  Kate decided she wanted to change up her costume for the night so she found herself an Indian costume to wear too.

The next day was Halloween!  Our kids still get to dress up at school which I'm so glad they do.  It is such a fun holiday and they are still kids!  Let them have fun!  The fifth grade had spooky science for Halloween and parents got to come.  This is another thing I love!  I know this is my last year getting to do a lot of school things with Cohen which really makes me sad.  I'm so glad we got to go and help out.  It was so much fun for them.  Each classroom was a different station where they got to make a science experiment.  They made ooblek (slime), bouncy balls, lava lamps, saw how vinegar and baking soda react with a balloon, and had a snack station too.  It was very neat and all the kids loved it.  For Halloween Cohen and several of her friends decided to dress up as fruits.  They were so cute in their costumes.  One cute fruit salad!

I got this picture of Kate's class from her teacher.

Halloween night we go to Sara's house and we all eat and go trick-or-treating in her neighborhood and around town.  Before we left I wanted to take a good picture of the kids in their costumes with my good camera.  I like to frame one each year and set them out with my fall decorations.  Well Bryce had to be woken up from a nap, the girls kept arguing about who knows what with each other.  Getting a picture was like an act of Congress.  We did finally get a couple and they look great, but if only you knew the process behind it!  I did get a few of my grumpy chief as he was walking to where I wanted him to go.

After we walked and trick or treated we piled the girls into the back of the car and went to a few more houses.  We sure didn't need any more candy but they had a ball going out together.  I think they were hoping to find something scary but had no luck there.  We now are running on sugar highs but Halloween was a blast!
