Fall Fun!

Fall tends to be so busy but so fun around our house.  Halloween is one of my favorites and all the fun that comes along with it, pumpkin patch trips, Halloween activities and parties and everything in between.  First up, we had a field trip to Denver Downs Farm with First Friends preschool.  This was Bryce's first year to have a field trip!  Denver Downs is so much fun and has so many things for the kids to do.  Since the preschool group was so big this year we were all split into 2 groups.  I actually let both of my girls stay out of school and go along.  Cohen had one of her good friends also going and since these 2 are at separate elementary schools I knew they would have fun having a day together.  Kate didn't have any of her friends going along but there was no way I could let Cohen go and not let Kate.  We made it a family day (minus the Hubs).  They really had a fun time feeding the animals, jumping on the big pillow, picking out pumpkins and the hayride, the cow train, and the big hay barn.  Just to name a few!

Bryce was thrilled to find the tractors

Later that week Bryce had fire safety day at school and the firetruck came for a visit. You know this little boy loves a firetruck!  When I picked him up at school he came out with his fire hat on and was so cute!  Sug sent me these other pictures of Bryce in the truck and his class all wearing their hats.  While Bryce was at school I had been on a mission to make him his very own corn box.  He had loved it so much and I knew he would enjoy playing with his trucks in it.  He has loved it and I've had it on our back porch so I can keep a close watch on him while he plays.

More fall fun we've had was going on our church's annual fall camp out.  This is something we started doing last year.  Our church has done this for years but we just got all of our kids at an age I felt comfortable going and camping with.  The weather was perfect this year!  We went up Saturday morning and got there just before lunch.  We grabbed lunch on the way to eat there after we got our tent set up.  I forgot to take a picture of the tent this year, but I don't know if you read our blog last year, but we had the smallest tent last year at the camp out.  One small tent for four of us to sleep in.  Cohen always stays with her BFF Josie in the camper.   Well this year we borrowed Sug and Pop's tent and we had the biggest tent!  This tent has rooms in it and we had lots of space.  We got a laugh out of this.  I have to say, I like the space.
After lunch everyone started arriving and the kids were having a blast.  Bryce was also having so much fun playing, then he got stung by a yellow jacket.  His very first sting, and it was so pitiful.  It took a little while to get him calmed down but he did.   I felt so bad for him.  It was then time to go on the group hike.  We always love the hike.  The scenery is always so beautiful and its so much fun being with everyone.

on our way!
The girls got to ride in the back of John's truck going to the hiking spot.  When we were on the main road they were down in the bed of the truck but on the dirt road they were thrilled to ride on the toolbox!

all of the kids!
The whole big group...minus Caron who took the picture

We enjoyed the campout so much!  That rest of the day we all ate, played BINGO,  talked and had the first kids vs. adults kickball game.  We had the second game Sunday afternoon after breakfast, and the adults won.  I wish I had a video of how serious it gets and I also wish I had the diving catch Hubby made to get the 3rd out one inning.  It was pretty but we all laughed that he would be sore from it.  No way do the kids get cut any slack at all.  The kids have a ball being with all of their friends and just playing outside.  Its nice to be removed from technology for a little bit.  Kate played games with some of the little boys Saturday night and she and Ty racked up on candy.  We had a big pile in our tent from her winnings.  She cracks me up.  It was another fun campout in the books.  We will look forward to next year!  And the kids are already counting down the days to be back at the park when we go for Thanksgiving at the cabin.

That night when we got home we had a special guest coming to stay...Tina and her daughter Grace!  We love waif visits and we really love when Tina's work brings her to Atlanta so she can come stay with us!  Monday we had to make our rounds in the big town of Lavonia...211 lunch and visits to Chitwood's and the Vintage Owl.  On this particular day we got to have all the fun in pouring down rain!

Cohen had Halloween night at dance that night and she was so excited that she was twinning with Mrs. Amy...two Little Red Riding Hoods!

Our fall fun continued the last weekend in October when we headed down to Florida for the Georgia/Florida game.  We always love this trip and the group we're with.  Some years we have to make a long trip back home with a loss but this year we were all going down confidant in our Bulldawgs and we were so right!  We headed down on Thursday with Blake and Kasey.  We left around lunch and ate lunch together then drove down.  We stopped in Darien again to eat at Skipper's then headed to our house on Amelia Island.  Not only do we love Amelia Island but we just have the most fun on this trip.  Friday the boys get up early and play golf.  Us girls got to sleep in, sit around and talk and then have a little time to sit on the beach.  The water was chilly but it was just so nice to sit out and listen to the ocean.  This beach girl always loves any beach time.   When the guys got back we all had a late lunch at the Salty Pelican.  Earlier in the summer while we were there we fell in love with this restaurant.
After lunch we made a quick grocery run for tailgating supplies and then we had to get ready to eat again!  We met up with our other FC friends at Brett's.  I think we had reservations for 40!  This is one fun group.  This year we not only were having fun anticipating our GA win, but we also got to celebrate Adam and Kelsie's engagement.

A huge shout out to Dawn who was on the 4th grade field trip Friday.  She sent me these pictures of Cohen since I couldn't be there.  It was a long long day for them too but I was glad to get these pictures seeing them having fun!

Saturday morning we were up early and headed to Jacksonville to cheer on the Dawgs!  We had a fun tailgate.  We ate, hung out, had our annual corn hole tournament.  When game time came we really had a good time.  Georgia gave Florida a good beat down and we loved every minute of it.  We even moved down to celebrate with the players after the game.  A win is always fun but even more so over the Gators.

Posing for the Rockstar Energy Drink people

We found Devin!

Sunday we headed back home to the kiddos!  We did make our regular lunch spot at the Coleman House in Swainsboro.  This has to be one of our favorites!  Every time we eat here we always take a picture.  This is something we started with Cohen when Kate was just 1 month old.

What a fun month we had!!!   Staying so busy, you can see why I'm doing a lot of blog catch up all at once!
