Kate Turns 7!

Another late post, but our sweet Kate celebrated her 7th birthday just a month ago.   On her actual birthday we had a family party and then her party with her friends came a week later.   Kate also surprised me by wanting to get her ears pierced for her birthday.  I've always asked her if she wanted them pierced but she never had, then while we were out the day before her birthday she said she thought she might want to so I didn't let that moment pass.  She was so brave and handled it so well.  Now we are still counting down the days until she can wear all the earrings she picked out.

Showing off her new earrings!
Last picture with our 6 year old!
On her actual birthday Kate started basketball camp.  Everyone sang to her at camp so I know she felt special.  She even got a jersey to wear and she had that on when I picked her up!  Since it was her birthday I took her and Cohen to lunch at 211.  Cohen had filled Kate in on how she had ate there on her birthday and that she would get a free dessert.  Well when you say the word dessert to Kate you are definitely speaking her language!  She was all in and loved her birthday message on her plate.  She dove in face first...you only thought one year olds were the ones to do that!  The whipped cream matched her blue Powerade mustache nicely!

That night our family came over to celebrate her and we swam and had a good time!

these 2 had a good time playing corn hole

She wanted Bebe's cheesecakes for dessert!

Because Kate is our summer baby we get to celebrate her birthday with a pool party!  Kate also wanted some fun games to play so we tried to come up with some good ones that would be fun.  She wanted some to include water balloons.  The kids all swam, ate pizza, played games, then swam some more.  She loved having her friends here and I think they all loved the games.  They got to dig in whipped cream for gummy worms, pop balloons in a relay race (you can see Bryce's turn and get a laugh out of that one).  IT was so much fun and I can't thank everyone enough for coming to help celebrate her.  She is one special and blessed little girl.  We love our Kate!  I don't know if they get any sweeter than her.  At 7 years old here is a little about Kate:
  • she still LOVES animals.  Everyone who knows her knows this.  She really loves the animals that are scaly, slimy, creepy, and gross to me like snakes, frogs, lizards.  I love her for it though!
  • She has a heart of gold and will do anything for you.  She loves her friends and loves her family!
  • This girl is a go getter and competitor!  She gives anything she does her all and will try her best.  She doesn't like to lose either which is a good thing but can be bad too.
I could go on all day on how awesome she is, but to know her is to love her.  I am blessed that I was chosen as her Mom and she is a blessing to our family every day.  I would have another one in a minute if I knew they would be as good as she is!

Kate had one final bday dinner in Gainesville at Grannie & Papa's house.  She loved that party too and she got to have ice cream cake which she loves.  She has definitely felt the love!
