Even though February is the shortest month, we managed to fill it up with some fun things. Never a dull moment over at our house, 4 kids will do that to ya! Aside from all of Cohen's birthday fun we had other fun things too. Ellington turned 6 months old! How our tiny baby is already 1/2 a year old is crazy! She is the sweetest and this month was learning how much fun it is to sit up. Bryce will be glad to give you an impersonation of her sitting then falling right over. She provides fun for all of us all day long. Because her check up appointment was pushed back I will be doing one big update on her after this week when I have her stats. We will combine it with her 7 month post!
Some other fun things this month were Valentine's Day & other preschool activities, Cohen had Chaos weekend at church which she loved, Kate and Kelly went to the Daddy Daughter dance, and Bryce went skiing for the first time. Also a big day for Ellington was when she was dedicated at church! I'm over here dreaming of a girls trip to some hot, sunny location instead of dealing with all the rain so let me know who's ready to get away and I'm there!
So lets start with Cohen...other than her birthday Cohen's big event in February was Chaos weekend with the youth group at church. She was so excited for this. It was her first Chaos weekend. She invited her best friend Josi so that made it more fun. We drop them off on Friday night and they have the weekend full of fun. Her 2 leaders were Cassie and Grace and I definitely think she hit the jackpot on that. Two sweet girls! They were Team Scream. Along with worship and hearing the speaker each day, Friday night they got to go jump at Sky Zone in Greenville and Saturday was the scavenger hunt. I loved seeing her on Sunday and just hearing the excitement in her voice when she shared all the fun she had. We are so lucky to be apart of an awesome youth group at church.
Kate had her Daddy/Daughter dance at school at the end of the month. We LOVE this event every year. It is the sweetest thing. Poplar Springs Church hosts this event for Lavonia Elementary School and they do such a good job with it. They go all out. This year it was a 50s sock hop. This was also Kate's first year without Cohen. I know Cohen missed going because she always loved it. Kate isn't into dancing quite like Cohen is but I got a video of her dancing with her friends. They looked so sweet. Afterward Kelly took her to eat at her choice...Chick-fil-A. She is just like her mama!
Bryce got to go skiing for the very first time in February! Kelly took him one Friday to Sapphire Valley, which is the perfect place for beginners like Bryce. It wasn't crowded and he had an hour lesson. He did great Kelly said. I was watching a little on the web cam. He did call to tell me that he fell down a lot but his last time down he didn't fall at all. We're hoping this is the start to him loving skiing. We didn't go to Colorado this year but definitely next year!
Bryce also had a fun Valentine's pizza party at preschool. Here he is with his buddy Noah. He is also still big into Star Wars and a sweet lady at church was so thoughtful and did some toy cleaning and had a lot of Star Wars toys from her grandson. When she found out Bryce was a fan she gave him these toys and he has played with them every day since! We definitely need a Disney trip soon so he can see all the Star Wars characters and Star Wars land up close and personal!
And last of the foursome is baby girl Ellington. She had a big month and was dedicated at church. There were 12 babies total dedicated! I was just overwhelmed at how many awesome families we are surrounded by and get to raise our babies together with. She is going to have some great friends! And their mamas are special to me!
Ellington also is a terrible sleeper. This sleep regression is for the birds but she does not sleep good at all. She hasn't made it one night in her own bed. However, her big sis tried the bed out for her one night and she made it the whole night! Now Ellington needs to take notes!
We celebrated Valentine's in February. Bryce and Kate both had school parties. Kate had a funny Valentine story this year. She was asked to be someone's Valentine and she told me, "Mama I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, and I might get something." She had me laughing all week because she told me she was getting chocolate and she sure did!
In February, we cheered on the FC boy's basketball team. Kate loves basketball and the boys had a great year. They gave us plenty of exciting games that went into overtime. One even had double overtime!
And last for our February fun, we got to play with some sweet baby goats that belong to our friends the Madden's. Cohen now wants a goat, which is a no and of course Kate just loves animals. Bryce was a little hesitant but did finally hold a baby goat. They were so sweet, and so cute.
Never a dull moment over at our house. But I do get a lot of snuggle time each day with my tiny girl. I may not be very productive but I will take it because these sweet moments just don't last long enough. This was one day when she fell asleep holding my shirt.
