Happy 3rd Birthday Kate!!

I can't believe I'm posting about Kate's 3rd birthday!  Where has time gone?  Kate is truly the happiest little girl and has brought so much joy to our lives.  She is so laid back and easy going.  Very rarely will you see Kate cry because she is so happy.  If she's upset its usually because she's hurt, tired, or being aggravated by her big sister :)  The girls can play so good together but they can also have their moments.
Kate has been very excited about her birthday.  She decided a while ago she wanted to have a Bubble Guppies birthday party.  Kate loves her favorite shows, which are Dora, Doc McStuffins, and Bubble Guppies.  She really likes a lot of cartoons but she was set on Bubble Guppies so that is what we did. I love that she has a June birthday so we can always play outside and let the kids have fun with water and anything else they want to play with out there.  Her birthday was on a Wednesday this year and since we were leaving for our cruise on Saturday we decided we would have her party on Wednesday too.  Another perk to a summer birthday!  We started our day with letting the birthday girl pick her breakfast of choice which was spaghetti and meatballs!  Kate is not a big breakfast eater, (she's like her mama!) so its no surprise on any day when she will ask for macaroni or spaghetti for breakfast.  Of course she got her request :)

I had to spend a lot of the day getting things ready for the party.  Things have been very busy lately so we had to use the day for last minute errands.  She did get a pizza lunch out of it though which is another favorite!  We only had one glitch while getting things ready, when we had our balloons blown up our big Bubble Guppies balloon got away in the parking lot.  I was not very happy about that but luckily Kate never noticed so she never said a thing about it. The other plain balloons sufficed!   At 6:00 our party started.  We had so much fun with our friends and family and I can't thank everyone enough for helping us celebrate our sweet Kate's birthday.  She loved every minute of it.  She wore her Bubble Guppies ribbon, and has every day since until now it is losing its stickiness :) When it was time for Kate to blow out her candles she was more than pumped.  She had asked me earlier in the day if I had bought her candles and cheered when I told her yes.  As soon as Kelly lit the candles and we started to sing, she blew them right out!  We had to light them again as we kept singing so she could blow them out again and I had to try to get a fast picture.  She was all about the candles!  She has had a blast with all of her presents and is an extremely blessed little girl.  Kelly & I  are even more blessed to be her parents!  Here are a few things about Kate at 3 years old:

  • Kate has the best personality!  She is outgoing, friendly, laid back and so easy going.  She handles most any situation pretty well so far.
  • LOVES LOVES LOVES animals.  She is definitely a nature lover.  She loves to dig for worms, go fishing, catch frogs, crabs, anything!  She loves Bebe's kittens and dogs too.
  • Loves the water and playing outside.
  • Loves to play ball of all kinds!  She may end up being our little ball player.
  • Loves mannequins and when we go shop she has to take pictures with each of them she sees.
  • Unfortunately she is not potty trained yet.  We are working hard and she will use the potty but she will not tell us when she needs to go and has problems pushing down her pull up.  Hopefully a break through will come soon or someone can offer this mama some good potty advice!
  • We haven't had her official check up yet but Kate weighs some where around 34 pounds.  She wears 3T clothes and right now a size 8 shoe.  She is a little bigger at 3 than Cohen.

Kelly was having as much fun as the kids were

How cute was the cake...Gina Bleech is the best!

Blowing out the candles for the 2nd time!

Kate wanted to eat "Mr Grouper" from the top of the cake.

Gavin loved playing in the car!

I loved this picture because Kate is playing with her new bubbles while wearing her new garden gloves!

Cohen loved reading the new book with Sug.  I caught her reading several times!

2 sets of sweet twin girls!

We had some fun watching Suzy try to get the balloons down.  When the broom didn't work, Elliott decided he could help by standing on Dawn's shoulders!
Happy 3rd Birthday to our precious Kate!!

Rosemary Beach!

After Cohen's dance recital, we were on our way to the beach!!  Kelly's parents were already down there for a wedding so they decided to go ahead and have our family vacation.  What a great way to start the summer!  We were going to Rosemary Beach which is in between Destin and Panama City.  It was late Sunday night when we got there but the drive had been good and we were excited about starting our week on Monday.  Each day we would enjoy our breakfast then get ready for the beach.  The girls loved the water and the sand and the water was so clear and beautiful.  We would take a break for lunch and then let the girls have some time at the pool.  They also enjoyed a lot of night swims too.  With it still being early for some vacationers we got to enjoy the pool all to ourselves and the beach wasn't crowded either.  By Friday it was starting to pick up for Memorial Day weekend but it was a perfect week for us and we got to enjoy it with our whole family.
One night Kelly and I decided to go for a walk on the beach and while we were down there we noticed a lot of sand crabs.  We caught one to show Kate and Cohen and then the next night decided to let them come down to the beach to catch a few themselves.  They really loved that, especially Kate!  They would grab as many as they could in their buckets and even after we had let them go Kate kept looking at the crabs in the sand and saying "get in my bucket!"  She loved it!
Kelly and his parents spent a few years camping at St. Andrews Park when he was little so we took a day trip there for a picnic lunch and let the girls all swim in the jetty.  They enjoyed that a lot too especially since there were no waves.  Kate found a few crabs in their shells here and that thrilled her.   It was such a fun vacation and we enjoyed every minute.

The girls loved getting buried by Daddy

Kate was like a  cinnamon sugar donut with sand all over her!  Look at that arm!

The girls got to have their picture made with this alligator at one of the restaurants we went to. Notice Kate's face...

Cohen was all about holding it
I asked the girls to smile for a picture together & you can see Kate's expression.  I then told her she could get some candy if she smiled so she put the big smile on you see...
