Disney (Day 2)

On Sunday we decided to spend the day at Epcot. We had originally planned to go to the Animal Kingdom first (notice the girl's animal outfits) but the weather was supposed to be cooler and windy so we thought we better change our plans thinking we could spend time inside on rides and things. So much is outside at all the parks but this is what we chose. When we got to Epcot we got our Fast Passes for rides then headed over to the character spot to meet Mickey & Minnie, and Pluto. Kate was a little hesitant with all of these characters but Cohen loved it all. She was all about the characters signing her autograph book. We also saw Pinnochio before heading to ride the Nemo ride and to do everyone's favorite, Turtle Talk with Crush! That was a highlight of the trip. Cohen loved it, and we all did too! After that we headed to meet our very first princess, Snow White! Snow White told Cohen all about her 7 dwarfs. Cohen soaked it all up like a sponge and when she walked back over to us she had the biggest smile on her face! It was so precious. While walking around in the countries at Epcot you can meet several characters. We also met Donald Duck in Mexico and rode the boat ride there. We then just walked around the different countries and the girls napped in the stroller. We had early dinner reservations so we ate in "Japan" and then rode more rides. I have to say I enjoyed the "Soarin" ride and of course the ride up in the "big golfball" as we called it! It was another fun day! I can see how easy it is to tire out though with 2 kids!

Kate had a button that said "1st Visit" and she loved it! We had given it to her on Saturday and that was the first thing she wanted when she woke up on Sunday. She loved pointing at the characters on it and she was definitely going to wear it!

Disney World (Day 1)

We spent our winter break (last week) in Disney World! My Mom had given this trip to us for Christmas and we had purposely planned to go right after Cohen's birthday. Cohen has been wanting to go to Disney World for a while now and she could not have been more excited. We left VERY early last Saturday morning and drove down. It was our family, my mama, my sister and Brock. We all made it in one car too...can you believe it?! Paula and I had leg room but the kids were pretty packed in. The girls did so good on the drive which was a blessing! We had been worried about Kate in the car for that long but she was great. It helped having Dora on the iPad. We got to the Art of Animation resort around 2:00. We got unpacked and then we decided to head to the Magic Kingdom. I think I was just as excited as Cohen. We she got her first glimpse of the castle her mouth just opened so wide and she said, "Wow! This is so cool" She couldn't believe how big a real castle was. We decided to ride a few rides and we chose to go to "Tommorrowland" first. We rode the rockets that spin around, (Kate included). Kate rode every ride she could with us on the entire trip. She was as good as gold on them all. We later rode "Stitch" and the Buzz Lightyear ride. This was a favorite for everybody. Kate had fallen asleep by that time so I got a kick out of the picture they took of us on the ride. I have Kate in one arm and I'm shooting targets with the other. All in between Kelly spinning us around and around! I think Kate and Cohen both loved "Its a Small World". Kate was very fascinated by the dolls and Cohen just kept pointing at everything saying, "look Mama, look Daddy, what country are these from." Nothing is better than experiencing things through your child's eyes! We left the park after our rides because it was pretty chilly and windy. We were pretty tired and wanted to rest up for day 2!

Happy Valentine's Day

My 2 sweet Valentine's who I love so much!

Yesterday we enjoyed a fun Valentine's Day. Kelly woke up early to cook breakfast for us. Cohen was excited about her Valentine's party at school. She was especially excited to pass out her Valentine cards. We had made Valentine's this year by taking Cohen's picture and then we taped a sucker to the picture and it looked like she was holding the sucker and handing it to someone. I thought they turned out cute and Cohen really got a kick on how it looked like she was holding the candy sucker.

Cohen really enjoyed her party as well. When I got there all the kids were super excited. They usually are on party days. They had a yummy snack, sang us some Valentine's songs, and then played musical chairs. As one person would get out, that person would get to start passing out their Valentine's into each person's bag. This made getting out look a little better to a lot of them. Not Cohen though, she is so competitive! She was one of the last 2 but not winning didn't phase her since that meant handing out her Valentine's. It was a fun party and then she was so wound up. She danced to her exercise song and ran wild! I thought she would crash when we got home but she didn't!

I had snapped these pictures of Kate while eating her breakfast. She was sporting her first ponytail! With this wild hair I don't know what to do with most of the time, other than her little "fountain" on top of her head. It was so cute seeing her with her hair up. It didn't last all day by any means but I did get a picture.

I caught this sweet moment when Cohen was trying to love on Kate. Kate usually pushes her off but for a split second she was ok with it :)

Kate and Cohen had a special Valentine's dinner with Sug & Pop last night. Kelly & I got to have a date night to the movies which was fun. I know the girls enjoyed themselves and we did too! Happy Valentine's Day!

Cohen's Camping Birthday Party

Saturday was the day Cohen had been waiting for! It was her birthday party day and she was so excited. This year we had a "camping" theme birthday. Cohen went camping this past fall for the first time and really enjoyed it so that's what we did. When your birthday is in February when you don't know if it will be warm or snowing you have to do things inside. It was a very fun party though and she said it was "so fun.". We went back to the Rec. Dept again. The kids all painted sun catchers, sang some karoke, had their faces painted, played in the tents, and played on the last minute obstacle course we put together with the mats in the room. That is where Kate stayed most of the time as well! I can't thank everyone enough who came and helped Cohen celebrate. Things can get hectic at parties but I think everything went well and most importantly, she had a blast!
One cute story happened before the party started when we were setting up. I had picked up Cohen's cake, which by the way was so adorable thanks to Gina Bleech, and then I headed over to finish setting up. Kelly came behind me with the girls. While Cohen & Josie were singing and playing, Kate was so preoccupied with the snacks I was setting out. I was giving her a Chee-To here and there to keep her happy, but at one point I turned around and she had gotten under the table, picked up the extra bag of Chee-Tos and was bringing the whole bag to me saying "eat". I love her so much and she is so funny. She loves to eat!
I also have to mention the cute little tents we had. Denny made these 2 frames for me to use and they were the cutest things ever! I got material for them and I was so excited about them. The kids loved crawling in and out of them.
