A Quick Ski Getaway
I'm doing a little catching up on the blog and starting with our quick ski trip in March. Kelly and I took a fun trip to Winterpark, Colorado mid-March. Of course during the time we were to be out there the weather went crazy. Colorado was set to have one of the biggest winter storms in the last 20 years and this storm was supposed to shut down the airpor and there was a prediction of possibly 50+ inches of snow. We were leaving on a Wednesday morning and let me tell you, Kelly was so stressed on what we should do. Tuesday night we were struggling. We finally went to sleep hoping to decide in the morning. When we woke up on Wednesday I went ahead and started getting ready. We were also getting the kids up and ready for school. We did have a later morning flight but we needed to decide so we could get going. Finally Kelly said we would just cancel everything. I was disappointed but definitely understood. Well he talked to a couple of friends and then after alot of debating we just said you know lets just go! So we did! We made it to the airport just in time and while we were boarding our flight we did start looking at some earlier return flights and right then ended up changing our flight home. We would hope for the best and hope to beat the storm. I think once we made our decision we were at peace with it. And now looking back I'm so glad we went. We did have some snow on the drive in to Winterpark. I think they had 8 inches that afternoon.
We ended up having the best time and had the best weather for skiing. We skied all day Thursday and half a day on Friday. We took a late night flight out on Friday night instead of our original flight on Saturday. We hated cutting the trip short but had we stayed we probably would have been stuck. So a shortened trip was much better than no trip at all!
Friday we were ready to ski! Of course we had to be masked up everywhere we went, which at least when your skiing your trying to stay warm but at times it was nice to just pull it down and breathe!
At night we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. And of course our fun Facetime calls with the kids. Bryce was trying to show us the blood in his eye.
We really just had the best time! Its so nice to have a little getaway just us! Next year we may have to take the kids because they are so ready to go back so I'm glad we got this quick trip just us two. The weather only added to the fun adventue! Memories!

February Recap
Here we are already 2 months into 2021! We've spent most of our time going between baton practices and basketball games. Kate and Bryce both played basketball this year so we had a lot of fun watching them both. Kate's team actually ended up the 10U girls champions. It was a great season for them.
Bryce also had such a fun time playing his very first year of basketball. He really impressed us on the court and improved so much throughout the season! He had a great team with a lot of his friends on it. He even told me he might cry on his last game because he was sad it was over. He will jump right into baseball though so that will help change his mind!
February was also a big month for Brock. We got to be apart of his signing day with East Georgia College. I can't wait to watch him play and follow his dream of playing college ball.
The kids got a short winter break in February so we were excited to take a quick trip to the Great Wolf Lodge. Cohen had another party the night we were gone so she was having fun with friends. We missed her but we will just have to go back again. We always look forward to a trip there. I also got to see one of my favorite people! Its always good to catch up even if its quick!
And finally we had some fun celebrating my mama! She celebrated a big birthday (70) and we loved celebrating her. Covid still makes it hard for big celebrations but we wanted to make her feel as special as we could!
We're looking forward to more fun in March. Its hard to believe we are about to celebrate one year of surviving the pandemic!
