Our sweet Kate celebrated double digits on June 4! I cannot believe this girl is 10. When I was looking back over pictures of her I was laughing and crying. This animal loving girl has brought us so much joy. I loved looking back at photos of her with every mannequin in every store we ever went in, her and her beloved dog bones and how she would have them with us all the time. Kate is one of a kind! She is still quite the animal lover along with sports especially basketball and soccer. She loves loves loves to go fishing and hunting. She can be very shy and soft spoken but she has such a sweet soul and good heart. She is a great sister and is very loving and caring with Ellington. She and Bryce are either playing wonderful together or at each other's throats. I think the same goes for her and Cohen but maybe not quite as bad. She is such a laid back little girl and I'm so thankful to be her mom! I still see those wide, bright eye that stared at me when she was born. We love our Katie Kate!
To celebrate the big 1-0 Kate wanted to take a few friends to jump at Big Air in Greenville. We loaded up these fun little girls and off we went. They had a lot of fun jumping even though Kate got hurt about 20 minutes into their jump time. She hyperextended her knee and it was not looking good there for a while. She is not one to complain and we knew she had hurt it good. She pushed through to try to do some things but that was the end of jumping for her. She tried to climb and do some of the ropes course. After we left we all went to eat at Barbaritos, her favorite then came back for some play time and pool time. They all had a blast.
The next day Kate started basketball camp at Emmanuel college. Needless to say after hurting her knee she wasn't quite 100%. The second day of camp she had to miss because we felt we needed to make sure nothing had been torn or pulled. We ended up at Athens Orthopedic Urgent Care and left with Kate in a knee brace but thankfully nothing was torn. She ended up going back to camp on Friday where she was the free throw shooter winner for her group! I was proud of her for sticking with it and she really enjoyed the camp. I know she wished her leg had not been hurt. Note to self...trampoline parks after basketball camp next time!
We celebrated Kate with family that night. She had already got one of favorite gifts the night before from Auntie P-a bearded dragon! She racked up on fishing supplies, nerf guns, and Nintendo Switch games. She had a great birthday!
I cannot believe Bryce has finished kindergarten! Its such a bittersweet ending. He had absolutely loved his first year of big school and has had the BEST teachers. We are really going to miss Mrs. Oliver and Mrs. Rivers! It was so sad that his first year was one that I really couldn't do anything with him and that just breaks my heart. Mrs. Oliver did send us pictures so that we got to see some of the fun they had. I so appreciated all of those. So much fun goes on at the end of the year so I wanted to share pictures if each one of the kids separately. End of the year is busier than Christmas I think!
For Bryce he got to have so many fun days at school, water day, field day, and career day which he said he wanted to grow up to be in the Army. It was so cute seeing him dressed up.
Bryce also received student of the month for Lavonia Elementary in the month of March and was recognized at the board meeting in a video (due to Covid). We were so proud of him.
Not only did Bryce finish kindergarten but he played his first year of coach pitch baseball and you know he LOVED that! He had so much fun and even was given the MVP award for his team! He had great coaches and teammates and just had the most fun. He is already ready for the next season!
