It's so hard to believe but Kate is 3 weeks old today! Time has flown by. I love every minute of being with both of my girls. I think with this being my second baby I realize just how fast time does get by and I have soaked up Kate! I just sit and hold her trying to savor each minute of her being so little. She is starting to stay awake more and focus in on us when we talk to her. I wanted to share some of the pictures I've taken so far of her. Some of these are when she was a week old and then one from this past week. She sure doesn't lack for having her picture made and Mommy loves having a little one of her own to play with!

Saving Pop
Last Friday was a fundraiser for the United Way and Larry "Pop" was one of the "celebrities". He was held hostage on the roof of our McDonald's and was then further tortured by being put in the dunking booth. Cohen and Kelly had a great time at the dunking booth trying to dunk Pop and kept asking to "do it again". I think she liked seeing Pop get wet, and I know her Daddy did. It was all for a good cause :) and we were happy to do what we could to get Pop off of the roof and then to help dunk him in the booth. I think in all he was dunked by Kelly, Cohen, Lydia and Sara. Gotta love your family :) It was a fun time and all of the granddaughters were there to share in the fun. I was glad to get a picture of all 4 girls together. This was the first one with all 4 of them!

Miss Money Bags
Last week Cohen and I sat down and finally rolled all of her change that was in her piggy bank. She had worked hard to fill it up and we had not emptied it out and rolled everything. Easter egg hunts really helped Cohen fill hers up! Cohen has gotten pretty bad to want everything she sees on T.V., but she had really set her mind on getting a Zhu Zhu pet. I told her we would take her change to the bank to get dollars and I would take her to buy her very own Zhu Zhu pet. And that is what we did. She really enjoyed sorting all of her change into piles and the next day we went to the bank and then on to do some shopping! She bought herself a princess Zhu Zhu pet and princess carriage. We are really hoping to make her understand how fun and important it can be to save your own money! Having a daddy who is a financial advisor, you can imagine how he feels about it! She is now set on buying a prince for her princess so we will see how long it takes her :)

A week of swimming lessons
Last week Cohen had swimming lessons. It was a busy week for us, and this was definitely part of it. Cohen is my child that has to warm up to EVERYTHING! She has always been my "little oven", she has to "preheat". This was no different. Kelly had been swimming with her with her floaties and she loved it but lessons were different. Luckily, she warmed up and by the end of the week she was asking us to go to lessons. Now everyday she wakes up and that is the first thing she asks, "Mama, can we go to swimming lessons?" She is like a little fish in the water. Its hard having a new baby that can't be out in the sun, so we are having to get our water fix in the evenings on most days. I've posted pictures from the first day of lessons and then from the last. Big Difference :)
And because I couldn't have pictures without Kate now, I have her at swimming lessons too. Doing what she loves to do-Sleep. She is absolutely precious! A post just of her newborn pictures is coming soon. I'm trying my best to catch up!

Welcoming Kate Daniels Finger!
I'm finally getting around to posting about our new princess! We welcomed Kate Daniels Finger last Saturday, June 4th at 3:25 am. I went for my weekly Dr's appt. that Friday morning and was having a few small contractions about 10 minutes apart and my doctor checked me, saw I was at 4 cm, and then asked that I go on to the hospital. Kelly and I were a little surprised, I thought it was still a little early, but we went on to St. Mary's. I was on the monitor about an hour and a half and then the Dr. checked me again and this time there was no change. I asked to leave but promised I would stay in Athens. Kelly and I called his parents to bring all our bags and our precious Cohen! Its nice because our Nana lives in Athens so we had a place to stay. I continued having contractions 10 minutes apart all day and at about 7 pm they started coming closer together. We timed them for about 2 more hours at Nana's until I had taken all I could and went back to the hospital. This time progress was made and I was 6 cm and ready to have a baby!! Unfortunately the epidural did not fully take so I had a rough go for the last bit but the end result was all worth it and Miss Kate Daniels made her appearance into the world at 3:25 am. It was love at first sight! I have been soaking up every ounce of her since then and her big sister has too. Cohen loves her so much. She is full of kisses for her and loves to tell her "hey" every time her eyes are open! To say I feel blessed is an understatement. We are now adjusting to life as a family of 4! I know more pictures will fill this blog soon. I have some awesome newborn pictures of Kate but they will come later :( I can't do too much at once.
