Kate's First Day of Preschool

Kate had her first day of school on Monday.  To quote her, she was "so so so so so so so so so so so so so so excited."  Her open house had been the Tuesday before so she had a little wait before the first day of school.   This will be her last year at First Friends which I can't even think about right now.  She was so happy to see her friends from last year and really excited about the new friends joining the class this year.  This year Nolan and Bentley were starting First Friends.  She also knew Jax.  All 3 being boys, but Kate was thrilled.  I'm excited about Kate having my friend Amy as her teacher and I'm looking forward to a fun year!  Every day this week Kate has jumped right up out of bed ready for school.  I'm so glad she is a morning person and wakes up happy.  Her big sister takes a little more pushing.  This year she goes every day but so far she is handling that well too.  We pick Nolan up every day and this week he has stayed with us twice which she really loves!  These two have played and played.  I love their conversations and I'm sure I'll have a few to write about as the year goes on.  They say the funniest stuff.  Off to a good start for our Kate!

Kate and Nolan!

These 3 are going to have a lot of fun!

One last look through the window

Someone needed his own picture taken too...1st day of mornings with mama

Amy sent me this picture of these 2 playing with the legos!

While the girls are at school, Bryce and I have to have our daily golf cart ride.  He will bring me my sunglasses and say "gol car".  I love some special one on one time with him too!

Cohen Gets Baptized!

This weekend was just a big weekend all around.  School started on Friday and on Sunday it was so special because Cohen was baptized.  Its hard to find the words to say just what a special feeling it is. It is one of the best and most important decisions anyone can make and even though a lot of years and mistakes lie ahead of her, the foundation has been laid and I know my sweet girl loves Jesus and has Him in her heart.  Cohen has been wanting to be baptized for a while now and we wanted to be sure she was ready and understood the importance of her decision.  After many talks and prayers with her we knew she was ready.  Each year our church has a cook-out at the lake and does baptism at the lake.  Cohen wanted her baptism to be at the lake so Sunday was the day.  Cohen and Kate got to have some playtime beforehand and enjoyed swimming in the lake and playing putt-putt.  Bryce was in his element too.   He got to walk around with Pop to talk to everyone, eat (his favorite pastime), and then swim in the lake.   I thought he may be hard to get out of the lake for the baptism itself but he did good.  He did start to swim out right in the middle of Cohen's turn!  He also started drinking the lake water causing him to cough.  A big thanks to my friend Amy who watched it all go down and walked out in the water to get him.  I needed a picture of him with her.  She even got her own pants wet getting him.  He is a mess!  His older sister Kate didn't help, she was splashing about a lot herself!   It was so hot at the lake, but later on as the sun was going down it started to feel good and always provides such a pretty background to such a special event.

Josie carrying Bryce down to the lake

You can see Bryce in his blue floatie surrounded by the girls...he will appreciate that one of these days!

Cohen and Josie were playing matchmakers between Kate and Brandon.

All the kids lining up to watch the baptism...ducks in a row!
Kelly is on the baptismal committee for the deacons so he was helping everyone get in and out of the water.  This was him and Cohen waiting for her turn.  Savannah was baptized right before Cohen and they were watching her.  I think Cohen was a little nervous and was asking how she was supposed to be dunked and what she would do.

Cohen's baptism was even more special because her Pop was the one to baptize her.

I love her smile here

Cohen & Kori twirl together and Cohen looks up to her so much!  So special that they both got to share this event together too!

And afterwards it was more swimming fun in the lake!  These girls had a blast running in the lake!

Cohen's First Day of 3rd Grade

Today it was back to school for Cohen!  3rd Grade here she comes!  Open house was last night so Cohen was able to go and meet her teacher.  This year she has Mrs. Hill and we were so excited after meeting her last night.  She was so sweet and talked about all the fun they would have this year.  I think that made Cohen more excited and she was also happy to have so many of her friends in her class again this year.  I know it will be another fun year for her and I'm excited for her.  This morning she was up before I had to say one word to her.  She had her dress all picked out and got herself dressed while I made her breakfast.  I'm glad that she gets up so easy but unfortunately that lasts for only the first day.  Come Monday it will be a struggle again to get her up.  This morning was great though.  I know she was nervous and excited all at the same time.  I was so ready to pick her up and hear how everything went.  She came out with a big smile on her face and said she had a great day!  That is all a parent can hope for.  It is so hard to let go but I know God has her and he is with her throughout her day so what more could you ask for.  I am praying for that smile each and every afternoon!

Yesterday we had some girl time together and had our nails done.  Cohen is all into having her nails painted and knows what she wants.  Its always a pattern of colors and she wants a design any time she can get it.  Since my design skills is very very slim, I let her save her fancy requests for the nail salon.  She chose cheetah designs yesterday and loved them!  She was so excited to show off her nails to everyone.  They were very cute and I was amazed at how great they looked.

Cohen and Mrs. Hill

While Cohen was off at school, Dawn and I decided to go to Commerce.  This would help take our minds off of what was going on at school and we had a few errands to run.  Kate was all about the mannequins...of course!  She even got into action with the running mannequins.  I love this girl!

We had a fun lunch at Chic-Fil-A and then had some time at home before it was time to pick Cohen up.  I was so glad to get my big girl and head home for the weekend.  We can ease into those early morning alarms!
